I. Past Events Recap

a. South Miami K-8 Book Drive

i. Thank you to all who participated and brought in toys and books. We contributed a big box of toys and spent time reading with Mrs. Breault’s first-grade class. We definitely planted the seed that literacy is important.

II. Fundraising Ed Bucks

a. Each member is required to see two booklets. This is how we are paying for our next book. We need the income!

b. Money WAS due Dec. 15^th. I have only received money from a few people. This absolutely must be turned in by Monday, January 24^th.

III. Club Pictures

a. January 28^th at 8:40am

b. When you turn in Ed-Bucks, you will receive your club photo pass

c. Please wear one of the Cobra Readers shirts if you have one.

IV. Our Next Bookis in: A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini.

a. We were only able to afford 25 copies. If you do not get one of those copies, please consider checking it out from the public library. You may check it out starting today!

b. Our meeting on Friday, February 11^th will be to show an author documentary during both lunches. Bring your lunch and get some background information.

c. Our book discussion will be Friday, February 25^th during both lunches.
